Somehow, you managed to find this little god forsaken corner of the web and are probably looking at the title of the page and thinking, “Ok, what's all this about?”
Well I'm going put it very simply:
The music played on the radio today is tripe, boring, unimaginative and is aimed at a target audience that doesn't know any better.
So, what I'm going to be doing here is sorting through music I discover and find the real gems and post them up here for all to enjoy. I'm not trying to change anyones opinions or tastes in music; simply, I want to expand your knowledge and understanding of music as a whole. I DO NOT view myself as a critic and will not be judging music or giving it ratings, there will be no charts or any of that rot. It's a very simple idea, I find music, I do a quick writeup of what made it stand out to me (once again, not a review but more of a quick synopsis of the song) and I post the song with writeup here for you to enjoy.
Now, with that being said let's get this rolling with an artist that has been around for a while that I have just recently discovered: DJ Shadow.
Artist: DJ Shadow
Track Title: Building Steam With a Grain of Salt
What I like about this song: The odd blend of old school beats with new school mixing and slightly ominous vocal harmonies set to a somber piano makes this a very unique track. I recommended listening to it while watching a thunderstorm outside your window.
